Set within the steep contours of Garhwal, this 3BHK villa was conceived as a contemporary interpretation of regional mountain architecture, shaped as much by the terrain as by the need to maximise views, privacy and everyday comfort. The challenge lay in negotiating an uneven hillside while carefully positioning the villa to open its primary living spaces towards the valley, creating a strong connection between architecture and landscape.
Sloping roofs, stone and timber elements reinterpret the visual language of Kumaoni architecture, while double-height volumes, skylights and cross-ventilation bring light and air into the interiors. Inside, a robust and rustic material palette gives the villa a grounded character, balancing tactile finishes with contemporary spatial planning. A private plunge pool, valley-facing decks and warm communal spaces extend the living experience outdoors. The project reflects an approach to mountain architecture, terrain-responsive planning and rustic contemporary interiors, where the challenges of the hillside become integral to the character of the home.
Warm, tactile interiors are layered around a grounded material palette, generous daylight and views that extend the living experience beyond the walls of the villa.
