Conceived as a 4-star hotel on a compact urban site in Dehradun, the project explores how a dense hospitality programme can be organised without compromising guest experience, natural light or a strong sense of arrival. The planning is structured around a central atrium that brings daylight deep into the building while visually connecting its various levels, allowing the guest rooms, public spaces and event functions to operate as a cohesive whole.
The design carefully negotiates the transition from the city to the hotel through a landscaped arrival sequence, while the rooftop is conceived as a destination that opens towards the surrounding forested landscape. Rather than relying on scale alone, the architecture creates identity through a considered relationship between hospitality planning, contextual architecture, natural light and material expression — balancing operational efficiency with a layered guest experience, from arrival and events to accommodation and rooftop dining.
